Volunteer
Thanks for volunteering to help the Cure MS Foundation raise money for people living with multiple sclerosis. We really appreciate you. Because we are strictly a volunteer organization we cannot do what we hope to do without your help. We primarily need people for the big dinner/dance/silent auction in November but there is much to do both before and after that night. If you are just volunteering for that night, expect a call or e-mail from someone on the planning committee a few days before the event explaining logistics, assignments, duties and answers to any questions you might have. Volunteers will not only receive the satisfaction of participating in a great fundraiser but will get a nice meal at their convenience.
These are the areas where we need the most help:
- Registration table
- Various raffle tables
- Vendor tables
- Silent auction set-up
- Silent auction clean-up
- Securing silent auction items from merchants
- Sponsorship - identify and pursue potential corporate sponsors and vendors for event
- Public relations - contact regional media outlets about the event
- Web site - work with web designer on site content
- Ticketing - responsible for tracking sales of raffle tickets and dinner reservations
- Security - night of the event - be willing and able to keep track of monies and merchandise
- Parking - work with valet to help people load and unload if necessary
- Post-event clean-up - taking down signage, gathering silent auction props and centerpieces and packing up and loading cars at the end of the evening
- Decor, food and drink - theme, design and set-up
- Volunteer coordinator- includes signing in, scheduling, and training the night of
- General volunteer - willing to work where needed
